AHMEDABAD: The cyber mobile of city crime department arrested 21-year-old Gautam Lakhwani of Jodhpur in Rajasthan on Thursday, for allegedly sending indecent messages and lewd footage to a city-based social employee by way of social media and a messaging utility.
Additional deputy commissioner of police, crime department, Rajdeepsinh Jhala, said a city-based social employee approached them with a criticism about indecent messages despatched to her on social media and by way of a messaging utility on her mobile phone.
“Based on her criticism, we were given the IP deal with of the device used to send the post to her social media profile and her phone. The IP deal with used to be of a mobile phone registered in Jodhpur belonging to Gautam Lakhwani, 21, a resident of Chopasni Housing in Jodhpur,” said Jhala.
Jhala saidd a staff led by inspector J S Geddam of the cyber mobile used to be dispatched to Jodhpur right away. “With assist from native police, we arrested Lakhwani,” said Jhala.
“On interrogation it emerged that Lakhwani got here around the victim’s social media profile thru his social media account 8 months ago. After making several efforts to make pals along with her, Lakhwani started posting indecent messages and lewd pictures on her profile. Lakhwani then searched for her cellular number and despatched equivalent messages and pictures to her by way of a messaging utility as well,” said Jhala.
Cyber mobile officials said Lakhwani, who works at a readymade garments store, used to be held by native police for sending equivalent messages and pictures to other social media profiles six months ago as well. “We have seized the mobile phone in which he operated his social media account,” said a cyber mobile legit.
