'No bar on online counselling for engineering admissions'

CHENNAI: Convinced that the online-only mode of counselling for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2018 is not going to result in any deprivation of opportunity to eligible scholars, in particular those from rural spaces, the Madras top courtroom on Thursday stated it used to be no longer vulnerable to direct Anna University to proceed bodily submission of applications also.

"It is actually more beneficial to the applicants by virtue of the decentralisation of the process and enabling the facility of undergoing admission process in a transparent manner without the requirement to travel to Chennai from different places across the state," a department bench of Justice V Parthiban and Justice P D Audikesavalu stated. As to the difficulties faced by means of scholars from rural spaces in the mode of cost of registration price, the college submitted that cost of registration price thru demand draft in addition to online modes would even be made available from May 18.


The college confident the courtroom that trained personnel can be available on the TNEA facilitation centres to assist candidate.


Recording the submissions, the bench posted the pleas to June 8 for submitting compliance report.
