BEIJING: More than 100 ancient tombs have been found out in Lhasa, capital of Tibet, consistent with the regional cultural coverage institute.
Archaeologists have discovered the tombs overdue ultimate year right through the excavation of a graveyard protecting more than 200,000 square metres in Quxu County, stated Norbu Tashi, a researcher at the institute.
Due to centuries of abrasion by way of rain and the affect of human actions, the tombs display signs of damage to various levels, consistent with archaeologists.
When excavating two of the tombs, archeologists discovered pieces of human bone and ceramic relics, which radiocarbon tests confirmed have been 1,180 to one,286 years previous, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
"As the excavation continues, it will shed more light on how tombs were built in ancient times as well as the broader cultural landscape in the region," Tashi stated.
