Parcel van of Keonjhar-Bhubaneswar Fast Passenger catches fire, none injured

BHUBANESWAR: Keonjhar-Bhubaneswar Fast Passenger train stuck fire on Wednesday morning close to Tilikidhara station in Keonjhar district.
All passengers of the train are reportedly protected, Railways resources stated. Only parcel of the train is affected due to the fire escape.


The passenger train left Harichandanpur at 7.52 am and reached Tilikidhara station at around 8.08 am. People waiting for the train on the station noticed the smoke billowing out of the bags van and knowledgeable the train driving force. The railways officials in an instant detached the van from the train. Fire brigade rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire. Short circuit could be the rationale at the back of the fire, resources stated.


East Coast Railway (ECoR) resources stated their officials have began rescue paintings to run the train by shunting the engine with other coaches


"The parcel van was loaded by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Keonjhar. It was attached to a locomotive in the passenger train. Cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. After inquiry, the exact reason will come to the fore," stated an ECoR spokesperson.
