NEW DELHI: The executive on Monday introduced that Piyush Goyal will probably be given additional charge for handling the finance ministry. Goyal will maintain the ministry until Arun Jaitley recovers. Jaitley underwent a a hit kidney transplant at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and is strong after the over four-hour-long surgery, hospital authorities mentioned.
During the length of indisposition of Jaitley, the portfolios of Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs held by him, will probably be temporarily assigned to Goyal, in addition to his existing portfolios, a communique from the President's office said.
Jaitley, 65, who has been mostly running from home since early April, was once admitted to the hospital on Saturday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Jaitley, hours before he underwent the surgery this morning. Government assets mentioned PM Modi was once involved with Jaitley's circle of relatives and had been getting updates on his well being in the course of the day.
Goyal could also be in-charge of the railways and coal ministry.
