NEW DELHI: A BSES inspection crew was attacked while it was carrying out a raid to check persistent theft in southeast Delhi, leading to injuries to two employees of the facility distribution company, officers mentioned.
Police arrested two persons in reference to the incident and their bail application was rejected via a Saket courtroom on Tuesday, a BSES spokesperson mentioned.
The crew was attacked last Thursday while acting on a criticism that a resident named Irfan of Lal Kuan, Pul Prahaladpur, was concerned with persistent theft. Irfan, his father Akbar and someone else named Shabbir allegedly attacked the crew individuals with sticks and bricks, the spokesperson mentioned.
Two senior managers of the company, Manish Sharma and Vishal Prabhakar, sustained injuries all through the melee. Prabhakar won injuries on his right leg whereas Manish suffered injuries on his chest and leg, the spokesperson mentioned.
A case was registered in reference to the incident and Akbar and Shabbir, had been arrested, while Irfan managed to escape. Those arrested had been presented in the courtroom and their bail was rejected.
Lal Kuan is a high-power theft house in south Delhi, where the discom looses around 2-3 million gadgets of electricity annually, the BSES spokesperson mentioned.
"Such incidents are not infrequent. Even in February this year, a BSES team was attacked and a senior official had sustained head injuries," the spokesperson mentioned.
