KOLKATA: Fish prices in the town have hit document levels as Kolkatans shun meat in the wake of the carcass controversy. Prices of normal sorts like rohu, katla, tangra and pabda have shot up via Rs 75-150 a kg following a surge in call for.

While fish has always been part of the daily nutrition of an average Bengali family, now even different communities, preferring meat for their nutritional wishes, have unexpectedly discovered their love for fish.
