Prime accused in Shweta murder case granted bail

GUWAHATI: The top accused in the prime profile Shweta Agarwal murder Case, Govind Singhal, was granted bail on Thursday by Gauhati prime court docket. Singhal, accused of slitting the sufferer ahead of seeking to set her frame on hearth, was directed to extend total cooperation in the trial.

The two other accused-his mom and sister-who were charged with helping and abetting the crime, were already out on bail. The counsel added that the court docket has ordered him to cooperate with the trial and police.

The town's Bharalumukh police station had earlier, while filing the chargesheet, had accused Singhal of first level murder. The police, however, had ruled out any instance of sexual violence after thorough forensic checks and post-mortem studies.

The investigation stated Singhal slit Shweta's throat following a heated argument between the couple. The incident came to mild when locals in the house noticed smoke billowing out of Singhal's area and alerted the police.
