Rajinikanth shoot talk heats up Darjeeling

KOLKATA: Superstar Rajinikanth is ready to host Darjeeling... err, Darjeeling is ready to host famous person Rajinikanth to shoot a film directed by Chennai-based filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. The director’s workforce is now finalising quite a lot of logistics on the location and, if all is going neatly, this would be the biggest-ticket movie shoot on the Queen of the Hills since ‘Main Hoon Na’, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen and ‘Barfi’, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.
It would even be the first time that the famous person would shoot any place in Bengal.



A workforce of technicians is now tenting on the heritage Mount Hermon School in Singmari. The workforce had asked the college government to take over certain portions of the campus — each within the building and within the sprawling property — for a minimum of a month for the shoot, from June 6. The college, on the other hand, has examinations scheduled between June 11 and 21, so the government have reportedly told the workforce that the premises cannot be used prior to the assessments are over.


The workforce of technicians is now doing a detailed recce of the college building and campus for his or her taking pictures setup. But no longer all areas will be made available, mentioned the government. “Our college is co-educational, and now we have hostels right here. We have told the workforce of technicians that we can no longer permit the shoot in certain portions, comparable to the ladies’ dormitory,” mentioned Anita Bhattarai, the college secretary. The ultimate deal is yet to be drawn up between the workforce and the government, she mentioned, no longer prepared to expose the reimbursement amount that the college can be receiving.


Mount Hermon School was once based in 1895 by Emma L Knowles of the American Methodist Episcopal Church, who changed into its first most important. The college was once first known as Arcadia and later as Queen’s Hill School. It was once at first a ladies’ college, with a small division for junior boys. In 1926, the college was once moved to Singmari, where the primary building was once erected within the Mount Hermon Estate. Of the numerous famous students it has produced, perhaps essentially the most famous name is that of British playwright Tom Stoppard, who attended between 1943 and 1946.


There is a large number of excitement within the south that the famous person is working with Subbaraj, a quite younger director. The storyline isn't yet out, however Rajinikanth has been quoted as announcing he loved the script.


“We are super excited and hope the deal comes through. To consider any individual as large as Rajnikanth can be taking pictures for a movie at our faculty is any such large information,” Bhattarai added.
