MYSURU: Demanding that China come clean at the whereabouts of the 11th Panchen Lama, participants of the Tibetan Youth Congress and Regional Tibetan Women’s Association of Bylakuppe, Hunsur and Kollegal mentioned that the Chinese government had abducted Gedhun Choekyi Nyima when he was just six years old, as he was declared the 11th Panchen Lama.
“It has been 23 years since his abduction but China has saved us all at nighttime about his whereabouts,” they mentioned.
On the anniversary of the Lama’s abduction, Lobsang Dorjee of the organization mentioned, “The 11th Panchen Lama is the youngest political prisoner. May 17 being the anniversary of his abduction, we demand that China unlock him and display us evidence that he's alive.”
Stating that China has saved the whole world at nighttime about the situation of the Lama, he mentioned, “Today, the 11th Panchen Lama is 29 years old and has turn into the longest held prisoner for 23 years. Nobody is aware of about his wellbeing or if he has received any education. We do not imagine China. We wish to see some photographs or video proof which indicates that the Panchen Lama is alive.”
Accusing China of violating human rights, he mentioned, “China should divulge details about the Lama and his family’s whereabouts. Though many human rights organizations have taken up the issue with China, not anything has pop out of it as China has been non-cooperative and doesn’t utter a phrase about the issue.”
Demanding the release of Tibetan language activist Tashi Wangchuk, he mentioned, “Since 2016, Tashi Wangchuk has been held as prisoner by means of China due to his attempts to popularize and propagate the Tibetan language.”
China should settle for the center trail manner mooted by means of the Dalai Lama to solve the Tibetan issue, advised Dorjee.
