NOIDA: Fifty-six students of Skyline Institute of Engineering and Technology protested on Tuesday in opposition to the varsity management’s decision to assemble 7th semester fees from them as that they'd already paid this fees to their previous college before a mid-session transfer.
These 56 students are part of 81 students who had been shifted to four different faculties in Greater Noida and Ghaziabad after JRE Group of Institutions in Knowledge Park shut down last 12 months. AKTU, to which the institutes are affiliated, had issued a notification last 12 months announcing these students had already paid the 7th semester fees (about Rs 70,000), they would be required to pay the 8th semester price only.
However, on Monday night, they received a notice from the varsity which showed that AKTU had allowed them to assemble fees for “ordinary semester” from 3rd 12 months and final 12 months students transferred from JRE to Skyline. Later in the night, AKTU released a fresh notification announcing the previous one had an error and it should have been “even semester”.
