SP stage dharna for clean Ganga

ALLAHABAD: Members of the Samajwadi Party introduced a large dharna on the banks of river Ganga at Sangam, on Thursday. The dharna is being staged to pressurize the central government to expedite the schemes promised to make the Ganga blank.


Leading the dharna, senior leader of SP and Rajya Sabha MP from the celebration, Kunwar Reoti Raman Singh mentioned that the celebration would degree a large countrywide movement to make the Ganga now not handiest blank but also a river which might have plentiful quantity of water all through the year. He mentioned that the government has spent crores of rupees but all have long past in useless as after a number of many years, the river still cries beneath sever pollution.


Commenting on the government’s formidable mission of ‘namami Gange’, the senior leader of the celebration mentioned that river Ganga is not going to turn out to be blank till the time plentiful quantity of water flows in the river. State government have constructed a lot of dams on the river because of which the river has taken shape of a drain, carrying effluent of various towns and factories.


Speaking on the instance, former city president of the celebration, Ok Ok Srivastava mentioned that Ganga servers as lifeline for lakhs of villages habited on its bank and if the river is polluted, we are playing with long run of the populace inhabiting these villages.


Meanwhile, activists of the Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha burnt the effigy of the petroleum minister at Union hall of Allahabad University, on Thursday. The contributors were agitated through the rising price of each petroleum and diesel which is causing hike in prices of various commodities.
