LUDHIANA: Punjab Forest and Wildlife Preservation Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot mentioned that underneath the dynamic management of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, the dep. has were given good fortune within the disposing of the encroachments over 2500 acre woodland land in Punjab in previous 12 months and the vacated land is being developed as woodland space.
He claimed that last 7500 acres of woodland land which is in illegal possession would even be vacated from encroachments by way of June this 12 months.
Addressing a press conference in circuit house, the minister mentioned that at the time of Congress govt's formation, there were encroachments on 31,000 acres of woodland land out of which circumstances of 21,000 acre are pending within the courts. Then Punjab govt began a force in opposition to the illegal possession to raise the encroachments from the rest 10,000 acre woodland space, he added.
Giving the main points, he printed that 100 acres in Mattewara, 227 acres in Jagraon space, besides 2500 acres land has been successfully taken over by way of the dep. after disposing of the encroachments.
He mentioned that the dep. has aimed to raise all such encroachments prior to the starting of paddy season this 12 months.
The minister claimed the dep. has decided to carry out plantation force at the cleared lands. He mentioned that within the previous 12 months, Punjab govt had decided to plant 2 crores saplings and this 12 months, the objective has been set four-time increase from previous 12 months purpose for which the dep. has been roping panchayats and different wings.
He mentioned that panchayats can be given plants and they might also deal with their nurturing. Besides, the city residents can be supplied planters, he told.
Dharamsot also disclosed a few new initiative of the dep. and mentioned sandalwood saplings can be presented to farmers to beef up their income and decreasing their dependence on regimen vegetation.
He also mentioned that in keeping with the new coverage of the state govt, if any encroacher fails to vacate the land on his personal, reimbursement or positive can be collected from him for the length since he took illegal possession of the land.
Before the clicking conference, Dharamsot in conjunction with senior officials of division visited Mattewara's woodland space and planted the traditional saplings of Neem, Peepal, and Banyan at the cleared land from encroachments. He made it categorically cleared that he would take stern motion in opposition to the ones officials who can be found assisting the land grabbers.
