BENGALURU: In a bonusfor the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the Karnataka Electricity Regulation Commission (KERC) has lowered tariff by way of Re 1 in step with unit, but that is not going to be passed directly to Namma Metro commuters.

“The tariff reduction could be very welcome,” Jain mentioned. “It is an environment-friendly transfer to incentivise electricbased mobility solutions. Our operational bills are rising principally because of higher security, higher team of workers prices, longer operational hours during off-peak hours, excluding others.”

Asked if passenger fares could be lowered, Jain mentioned, “Revision of fares is deliberated by way of the audit committee of the board and decided with the approval of the board and the federal government. So any proposal for fare revision has to be decided on the appropriate degree. However, protecting in thoughts our general monetary situation, and considering that our fares are relatively aggressive, there is no proposal to revise the fares at the present.”
