Tejaswini wins gold, Chain Singh silver at Munich World Cup

NEW DELHI: Extending her good run this season, seasoned Tejaswini Sawant nailed a gold within the women's 50m Rifle Prone match on the opening day of ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol degree in Munich.

Sawant shot 621.four to pip more youthful teammate Anjum Moudgil, who shot 621.2 to win silver within the match.


Sawant had received a gold on the recently-concluded Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in Australia.


Chain Singh also received a silver within the men's 50m Rifle Prone match, shooting a ranking of 627.9 to finish in the back of USA's Matthew Emmons, who took gold with a ranking of 628.9.


Among different Indian, Shreya Saxena completed 9th within the women's Prone match with a ranking of 619.1 while within the men's match, Gagan Narang and Sanjeev Rajput shot ratings of 621.7 and 621.2 to end in 32nd and 34th positions respectively.


The trio of Apurvi Chandela, Mehuli Ghosh and Anjum Moudgil will spearhead India's challenge within the women's 10m air rifle, first of the 10 Olympic match finals.
