Thunderstorm alert: Haryana schools to remain closed for the next 2 days

PANCHKULA: Panchkula climate division on Sunday issued prime alert of thunderstorm and rain for May 7 and May 8 on Sunday evening. Following the alert, Haryana education minister Ram Bilas Sharma also introduced two-day college closure all over the state.

Panchkula has a total of 418 schools, including 58 private schools. All schools schools will remain closed for two days following the prime alert.

The Panchkula administration later within the Sunday evening also issued advisory to the citizens of Panchkula to take vital steps to avoid wasting themselves from the sturdy winds and rain which is anticipated. Chances of having loss of lifestyles/wealth thru thunderstorm and rain can happen on this climate.

The prime alert was once issued via the Haryana Meteorological division and following which Panchkula Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mukul Kumar has asked the citizens to not stand/sleep under the tree or park their cars under the tree as tree branches or tree can fell down. Citizens were also requested to stop or ensure that the fire lit in open area should be right away lit off when no longer in use.

DC Mukul Kumar mentioned, “Haryana climate division has issued a prime alert for two days and they will give the exact updates of 3 hours prematurely before any main alert and we can stay on informing about the climate and their signals. Citizens donn't wish to get afraid. Disaster control workforce has also given directions to get able.”

Both executive in addition to private schools will remain closed within the district, added DC.

Farmers were also advised via the DC to stay their vegetation neatly coated to avoid wasting them from thunderstorm and heavy rain which is anticipated to return within the coming two-days.
