Twin cities residents cry out for water

Hubballi: While applicants of all distinguished parties are busy in rallies and roadshows telling other people in regards to the amenities that they have got equipped or are going to offer, voters within the dual towns are suffering to get a drop of water. While some spaces are getting ingesting water as soon as per week, several spaces are getting it just as soon as in a fortnight.
According to resources within the Karnataka Water Board (KWB) and HDMC, the dual towns are dealing with a critical water disaster for the 5th consecutive summer. Though the water disaster started in January itself, other people allege there were no attempts to tackle the topic by means of HDMC or KWB government.

Residents of spaces like Old Hubballi, Keshwapur, Gokul Road, Vidyanagar, Unkal Cross and central Hubballi are bearing the brunt of the water shortage. Water is being provided just as soon as in 10-15 days. Earlier, they used to get water as soon as in four-five days. Whatever little water this is being provided may be polluted as sewage is getting blended with the ingesting water pipelines, citizens allege.

“There are some spaces in Hubballi, the place the 24x7 water supply sceme is being implemented. The administration must consider distributing that water equally to all wards as an alternative of supplying it to a couple of spaces. Water must be provided for no less than two hours in line with day in all of the spaces,” stated Sudha Gangadhar, a resident of Keshwapur.

“Whenever water is supplied, a power cut worsens the location as we are unable to raise the water to our overhead tanks. KWB must supply water in coordination with Hescom to ensure power supply all the way through water supply,” suggested Deepa Suresh, a resident in Bhuvaneshwari Nagar.

“We are paying a hefty amount for water tankers because of unscheduled and behind schedule water supply. If this example continues to any extent further, we will be able to lose a big a part of our earnings for water,” stated Shivprakash Patil, a resident of Ghantikeri.

KWB resources stated that there is not any water left in Neersagar and the only method to get water to the dual towns is from Malaprabha, which recently has only a little of water. “This inturn is affecting water supply within the dual towns,” they added.

When contacted, Okay Raghavendra, leader engineer, KWB, Dharwad, stated KWB remains to be trying to find a solution to the water problem.
