Two elephants found dead in different places in district

Coimbatore: Two elephants were found dead at different parts of the district on Tuesday.
While a six-year-old male elephant was found dead at Koodapatti close to Periyanaikenpalayam wooded area vary, the carcass of a feminine elephant was found close to the Bhavanisagar dam.

Around 9am, when the anti-poaching watchers were on patrolling duty, they got here across the carcass of the elephant close to Koodudurai in Periyanaickenpalayam and had instantly alerted the wooded area officers who in turn introduced the veterinary dispensary physician to accomplish post-mortem, said an legitimate from the wooded area department.

“Post-mortem was conducted, and the carcass of the elephant was buried,” the legitimate said, adding that wound in the mouth was found at the male elephant and it may well be brought about by way of a wild boar.


Intestinal worms may well be the reason for loss of life of female elephant, the legitimate added.


The preliminary post-mortem for the elephant was conducted and the samples of necessary organs were being sent to the veterinary forensic lab in the city for further take a look at. The legitimate said that the cause of the loss of life is yet to be recognized.


The officers are further investigating the loss of life of the elephant.
