BENGALURU: Opposition chief BS Yeddyurappa on Friday mentioned the BJP will follow a state-wide bandh on Monday if the brand new Congress-JD(S) coalition government didn't waive farm loans.
The bandh threat was Yeddyurappa’s ultimate word as he led his party’s walk-out from the assembly all over the trust vote, indicating that the BJP in its role as opposition will probably be combative and shrill.
Picking at the JD(S) manifesto the place the party had promised to waive off Rs 53,000 crore loans farmers had availed from non-public, co-operative and nationalised banks, Yeddyurappa mentioned: “Since the CM and his party had made a promise to waive farmers’ loans within 24 hours of coming to energy, we grasp them responsible. If they don't announce the farmer loan waiver instantly, the BJP will name for a bandh on May 28.”
Before Yeddyurappa’s ultimatum, CM HD Kumaraswamy had mentioned that the government will waive loans but required a while to take action. “It's not that i am operating a central authority with absolute majority, but that does not mean I am going to shy away from my promise of waiving farmers’ loans.”
Later, Yeddyurappa mentioned Bengaluru has been exempted from the bandh name as there are elections in RR Nagar assembly section at the day.
