LUDHIANA: A 20-year-old was arrested for kidnapping a 17-year-old girl and raping her on pretext of marriage on Saturday.
According to the grievance filed by way of the woman's father on June 13, his daughter went lacking underneath mysterious circumstances at the intervening evening of June 11 and 12.
Later, he came to know that the accused had kidnapped her at the pretext of
. The station house officer (SHO) at Dugri police station, Ashok Kumar, said police on Saturday arrested the accused and rescued the woman from his clutches.
The girl claimed that the accused has established physical relations together with her on pretext of marriage. Ashok added scientific exam has showed rape and a case underneath sections 363 (kidnapping), 366A (procuration of teenage girl), 376 (rape) and 506 (prison intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered in opposition to the accused.
