NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday claimed a unsolicited mail mail was once sent to 30,000 folks from an reputable e mail ID of former joint director of CBI, Rajiv Singh, who was once heading the probe into the Punjab National Bank scam on account of hacking or malware, but there was once no foul play concerned.


CBI said there was once no probe within the subject as it was once a hacking or malware brought about unsolicited mail, and no data or investigation details were compromised.

"(The) matter was immediately brought to the notice of systems division of the CBI. The systems division contacted National Informatics Centre which operates the official e-mails of the CBI. The CBI spokesperson said the computer systems operating the email account belonged to the staff segment of Singh's place of job. "The computers which routinely accessed this e-mail have been sent for examination for possible malware," the spokesperson said. He added no non-public laptop or laptop of the officer has been seized or is beneath probe.
