5-year-old drowns in Virar resort pool

MUMBAI: A five-year-old girl drowned in the swimming pool of a hotel in Virar after she allegedly slipped from her folks fingers.

The Arnala coastal police has registered a case of accidental loss of life.

On Friday, Prapti Patil, a resident of Narangi in Virar had gone to the Arnala beach with her folks and relatives.

After spending the day at the beach, the Patils made up our minds to clean up at a close-by hotel.

At round 5pm, Prapti’s father Naresh approached the Nisarg Resort, located near the beach, for permission to use the washroom.

The hotel staff allowed the Patils to use their washroom. The staff is assumed to have charged them a couple of loads for the use of the washrooms.

While some family members had been the use of the washroom, Prapti and her folks entered the swimming pool.

Prapti allegedly slipped from her folks hand and fell into the water. She was taken out of the water and rushed to a close-by medical institution where she was declared useless sooner than arrival.

The hotel has two grownup and one kids pool. Prapti and her folks had been in the grownup pool.

The hotel attracts day picnickers right through summer vacation. The staff of the hotel who double up as life guards and waiters had been busy asking guests to transport out of the pool and hotel at 5pm which is the timing for day picnickers to leave.

When the Patils entered the pool with Prapti, that they had gone unnoticed by the staff.

Police mentioned that the homeowners of the hotel can be wondered. There was no file of the Patil’s in the hotel register. The folks did not make a case of negligence in opposition to the hotel.

The complete stretch of Arnala beach is lined up with lodges. Most of those lodges draw in groups from Mumbai and Thane. Most of the lodges shouldn't have life guards.
