Bellandur Lake froth haunt commuters

BENGALURU: Within days after the deputy leader minister and minister for Bengaluru Development G Parameshwara inspected the Bellandur lake and promised solutions to its pollution woes, froth continues to hang-out commuters and citizens round.

On Wednesday morning, froth rising from the Bellandur Kodi house got annoyed as a result of the prime winds and started to trouble vehicular commuters on the lake aspect.

Seema Sharma of Kasamukta Bellandur, a citizen volunteer staff, mentioned they are dwelling with the foam problem on a daily basis. "Froth is a regular phenomenon at the water body. During rains and heavy winds, like it happened today morning, froth flies on to roads and residential areas in the neighborhood. Sprinklers and other measures are temporary. What we need is long term and permanent solution. It can happen only when steps are taken to prevent the lake from getting polluted further," she added.

Bellandur, the largest water frame of Bengaluru, is infamous for heavy pollution ranges. Despite the raps from the National Green Tribunal and Karnataka High Court, the state govt is dragging its toes on executing the professional suggestions to save lots of the lake.
