‘BJP attempts to gain foothold in Tamil Nadu via taming AIADMK’

TIRUPUR: VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan on Thursday attributed the BJP’s poor show in byelections held in Kerala, Karnataka, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh to the saffron birthday party’s open hatred in opposition to the minorities and marginalised communities.

“It reflects the growing discontent towards the BJP,” he stated while addressing the media right here. “In Tamil Nadu, BJP is making an attempt to find its foothold via threatening AIADMK and maintaining the ruling birthday party below its control. Chief minister Palaniswami had stated he got here to learn about Thoothukudi police firing most effective thru new channels. Hence, there's a suspicion that the BJP-led central executive will have had affect within the incident. The Centre stated it was able to send paramilitary forces to take control of the situation,” he added.

The VCK leader also stated there was no religion within the single-member judicial fee appointed to probe the incident. The state executive had appointed former justice Aruna Jagadeesan to probe the incident. But several allegations have been raised towards the fee. “So, special inquiry committee should be appointed,” Thol Thirumavalavan stated.

Taking a dig at actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth, who had praised the overdue CM J Jayalalithaa for crushing anti-social components with iron fists, the VCK leader stated in her tenure seven dalits were shot in Paramakudi incident.

“Both Palaniswami and Rajinikanth are vaguely stating that anti-social components have been liable for Thoothukudi killings. So, Rajinikanth should put up a written remark about such components before the police,” he stated.
