Though the group has looted a number of shops sooner than, that is the first time police have got footage of those miscreants

A burglars’ gang that has an affinity for cigarettes and sweets has been doing the rounds within the city. In their newest strike at a pan store on Brigade Road on Sunday, cigarette packets price Rs 20,000 and chocolate boxes were stolen. Everything else within the store used to be left untouched.

Kamal Pande, 30, the landlord of the pan store reverse Dubai Plaza on RHP Road instructed Bangalore Mirror, he had heard of this gang’s earlier thefts, but had now not expected this blow to land on him. Sources stated within the closing two years, around 10 such cases have been reported but so far the miscreants have now not been stuck even once.

He instructed BM he had closed his store around 12.30 am on June 3 and gone home. Pande has since looked at CCTV footages from the encompassing buildings. In one of the footages, he noticed two motorcycle borne miscreants stealing from his store. Pande stated the footage shows two individuals passing by entrance of his store, taking a U-turn and preventing close to the store around 5.30 am. They broke open the lock and entered. They had taken cigarette packets of well known manufacturers and quite a lot of sweets and mints too. They escaped from the spot around 5.45 am.

“A an identical theft had taken place within the godown of our supplier (dealer) a few months again. I've heard of alternative such incidents too,” he added.

According to the police, no less than two such incidents are being reported in a single month for the closing two years. A police source stated a few months in the past, they'd stolen a booty price more than Rs 30,000 from a shop within the South Division. “This time, they are stuck on camera. In one of the footages, the picture is not very transparent, but we now have footage of good resolution. So the danger of their being stuck is high,” an investigating officer stated.
