As many as 210 cars, most commonly massive cars, buses and four wheelers, 150 two-wheelers and 1,500 other folks stranded because of the landslide had harrowing time because of copious rain in the stretch till the police cleared the path for motion of cars.

Ravikanthegowda, superintendent of police, Dakshina Kannada said the ghat phase will probably be closed for 2 days for vehicular motion. All the cars are diverted by way of Sampaje-Madikeri or Naravi-Bajegoli-Mudigere-Belur path. If landslide nonetheless continues, Charmadi Ghat is also blocked for nonetheless extra days, he added.
