COIMBATORE: Class X, XI and XII students from govt colleges in the district can have per 30 days checks hereafter. Chief training officer of Coimbatore P Ayyannan said the transfer has been introduced to enhance the district's efficiency in board exams. He said corporation colleges too could be introduced under the ambit of per 30 days checks.
“The checks will get started from this month. There will be a per 30 days test this month and a revision test next month followed by way of any other per 30 days test in August. Quarterly exam will be held in September,” said Ayyannan.
“Classes X and XII can have per 30 days checks from this month,” he said, and added that Class XI would have checks from next month.
The transfer, which was announced at a gathering of government school headmasters just lately, comes after the district’s pass share in Class XII results had slipped marginally this yr and in Class X results the district had slipped to 15th position from final yr’s 11th position.
Government schoolteachers said while earlier they'd conduct per 30 days checks independently in their classes, this was the primary time the department would conduct an identical checks around the district. “These checks would lend a hand students to study the parts taught in a specific month in the same month. While finding out for the quarterly examination, they'd be revising the parts of per 30 days checks,” said a central authority schoolteacher from the town.
Education officials had said the department would take measures to enhance the district’s efficiency in board exams the approaching yr.
Similarly, per 30 days checks would lend a hand corporation colleges to perform better, academics said. The corporation colleges had trailed in the back of different colleges in all of the 3 board exams this yr. Out of the 16 corporation colleges, none had managed to get 100% pass share in Class XI results. They had also performed poorly in Class X and Class XII board exams too.
As corporation colleges would have per 30 days checks it will lend a hand the ones colleges also to perform better, said a trainer.
