BENGALURU: Taking exception to CM HD Kumaraswamy for terming his copter consult with as CM to Ilkal and Channagiri “splurging executive money”, BS Yeddyurappa has offered to repay the amount to the government.
“As caretaker CM, I had long gone to Ilkal to attend the remaining rites of Mahant Shivayogi Swamy and to Channagiri to console the members of the family of a farmer who dedicated suicide. I’ve used the power I’m entitled to. Without figuring out the purpose and instances, the CM has misled the people by way of terming my consult with ‘splurging of public money’,” Yeddyurappa mentioned in a letter to Kumaraswamy on Thursday.
While explaining his austerity measures, Kumaraswamy mentioned Yeddyurappa spent Rs 13 lakh on hiring a distinct flight to consult with Ilkal.
