COIMBATORE: A 77-year-old homicide convict lodged in the Coimbatore Central Prison died of asthma-related headaches in the early hours of Wednesday.
Okay Chinnakalai, a resident of Rasipuram, have been in the jail since December 2007.
Police said Chinnakalai have been undergoing treatment for bronchial asthma, in the jail sanatorium. On Tuesday afternoon, he discovered it difficult to breath because of the change in climate prerequisites.
The man used to be admitted to Coimbatore Medical and Hospital where he died in the early hours of Wednesday, with out responding to treatment.
The body used to be sent for postmortem.
