Tirupur: District collector K S Palanisamy has asked the farmers who have raised their dissenting voices towards high-voltage transmission lines venture to have interaction in talks with the district management.
He addressed the farmers at the per month complaint assembly held in the town on Friday.
Palanisamy stated, “It is essential to discuss the issues case by means of case. If the interaction would not happen in the ground degree, such problems cannot be taken care of out.”
The Power Grid Corporation of India is linking Tamil Nadu’s Pugalur and Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh in the 1,830-km long high-voltage transmission line venture at a price of Rs five,700 crore. The central executive is bringing up the venture to faucet about 6,000 mw electricity generated from renewable power. In Tamil Nadu, the transmission lines will pass no less than 14 districts.
The co-federation shaped by means of various farmers’ groups have suggested the central executive to implement the venture as underground. There can be numerous restrictions if the transmission lines cross thru their agricultural lands, they claimed.

M Rajamani of Tamil Nadu Vivasaigal Pathukappu Sangam stated, “The Tiruvannamalai district management has introduced to supply compensation of Rs 80,000 consistent with coconut tree for Salem-Chennai eight-lane greenway venture, so the Tirupur district management will have to also provide the same amount to a coconut tree as an alternative of Rs 40,000.”
