Delhi's Barapullah second phase to open soon

NEW DELHI: The Barapullah increased road’s extension to INA Market and Aurobindo Marg in south Delhi is more likely to open in July after lacking its fourth closing date remaining month. PWD officers mentioned development of the street is complete barring a short 126-metre stretch close to the Sewa Nagar railway crossing that Northern Railway will build.


The two-km extension is the second phase of the project. The four-km phase I connecting Sarai Kale Khan with JLN Stadium has been operational for the reason that 2010 Commonwealth Games. Phase II had a 2015 closing date, which used to be extended to September 2017, then March 2018.





Phase II has faced many hurdles, including not on time permission to build on railway land. PWD officers say the railways saved them waiting for one-and-a-half years. Work used to be also stopped remaining yr when the prime courtroom ordered PWD to complete desilting Kushak Nullah to make sure waterlogging didn’t occur right through rains.



The civic agency built piers for the street in the nullah whilst railways installed the girders above the monitor.
