DIGHA: The craze for a selfie snatched the lifetime of a 56-year-old railway worker at Digha on Wednesday morning when he stepped over the ocean guard wall to pose on the boulders and were given swept into the ocean by means of an enormous wave.
Chandan Mukherjee’s circle of relatives watched in horror as a sudden wave crashed into the guard wall of the Biswa Bangla Udyan seaside in Old Digha and pulled him into the gurgling waters. Mukherjee’s circle of relatives frantically screamed for help and his 19-year-old son ran to name again the ‘nulias’, who in an instant introduced a search however may just no longer hint him. Two hours later, Mukherjee’s blood-stained frame surfaced near Sea Hawk Hotel, 500 metres away, as the waves receded. The nature of injuries steered he had smashed his head in opposition to the boulders earlier than being tossed into the ocean. The frame used to be sent to Digha health facility for post-mortem.
