Film on eco-conservation wins international laurels

With ecological conservation and going environment-friendly changing into the need of the hour, environmentalists within the town are leaving no stone unturned to spread awareness at the same. Coimbatore-based environmentalist R Mohammad Saleem has now donned a new hat as an actor in a film that revolves round eco-conservation and tribal lifestyles. The function movie titled Adavi, is directed through Chennai-based debutant director Velmurugan P and has popular Tamil poet Vikramadithyan playing a a very powerful position in it. The icing at the cake is that the movie has been profitable accolades internationally, including awards at Barcelona Planet Film Festival, Mexico International Film Festival, and Indonesia World Environmental Film Festival.

Adavi has been shot within the Western Ghats and predominantly at Adavi Nainar reservoir in Tirunelveli. “The plot essentially touches upon two subjects- tribal welfare and eco-conservation. The tale revolves round an previous tribal guy (performed through Vikramadithyan) who refuses to depart the wooded area and somewhat boy whom he raises. The movie tries to damage the myth that wooded area dwellers are chargeable for the destruction of the wooded area. The fact is that they are the ones who are wearing out sustainable living for generations. Their survival is in accordance with the wooded area. It’s the outsiders who give a contribution to wooded area degradation with poaching and littering,” says Saleem.


Talking in regards to the plot, he adds, “The tale revolves across the previous guy who dwells in a wooded area by myself. He later reveals a small child within the jungle and raises him as his personal. Talking in regards to the demanding situations taking pictures in remote locations, the movie’s director Velmurugan P, tells us, “Today, there may be a lot of discuss environmental destruction and degradation and it was top time I performed my part, too. Since we were taking pictures within the wooded area, we have shyed away from trolleys, heavy cameras, artificial lightings and a big workforce.” Velmurugan calls the movie a tribute to 100 years of Tamil cinema. “Adavi has been made as a silent movie as we wanted to capture the beauty of the sounds of animals and birds. Secondly, the movie is a tribute to the silent technology.”
