Green CNG cabs to hit B'luru roads this month

BENGALURU: After long delays, surroundings pleasant Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) cabs are after all set to hit city roads by way of this month end.
Uber, a big cab aggregator within the city, will signal an MoU with GAIL Gas Limited to release ‘Hasiru Bengaluru’ (Green Bengaluru) on June 20 to roll out CNG cabs within the city. Separately, every other city-based personal aggregator Zib Cabs will even release eco-friendly cabs on June 25. Both taxi firms are more likely to function CNG cabs on airport course within the first segment.

GAIL Gas has arrange refilling stations at two places, Laggere and Sunkadakatte. It plans to construct four more in the following few weeks at Peenya, Bommasandra, Jigani and Bande Kodigehalli (at the alternative highway to the airport via Hennur). The corporate has entered into collaborations to arrange stations at shops of IOCL, BPCL and HPCL. Even places like Agara, Kengeri, Tatanagar, Mahadevapura and Goravigere will get the facility in three to 6 months.


The city has 1.56 lakh taxis, mostly run on diesel and petrol. While maximum cab aggregators in Delhi have shifted from diesel to surroundings pleasant CNG, Mumbai may be planning one thing identical.
