Gurugram: 2 get 5-yr jail for snatching cellphone

GURUGRAM: A Gurugram court on Tuesday sentenced two persons to 5 year in jail and imposed a tremendous of Rs 25,000 on them for snatching a mobile phone ultimate year from a scholar.
District and periods judge R Ok Sondhi awarded the prison time period to Rashish (19) and Vakil (22) both resident of Silokha in Mewat district. The
incident came about ultimate year. The accused had been chased through two faculty students and had been handed over to the police.

On November 18, 2017 Ravinder, the complainant, was returning home from tuition whilst speaking on telephone when two bike borne formative years snatched his mobile at Bilaspur chowk and drove away. He raised alarm when he spotted his buddy Hansraj coming on motorbike from the other way.

Hansraj grew to become his motorbike and together with Ravinder they chased the snatchers for around 2km and apprehended both accused at Pathredi T-point.


Many people had been present at the spot and they started beating the accused and recovered the mobile phone from them. In the intervening time time, they knowledgeable the police and handed over the duo to ASI Hawa Singh and other police officials of Bilaspur police station who had been patrolling the world.


The accused had been booked below segment 379-A (snatching) and 34 (common intention) of IPC.


Public prosecutor Anurag Hooda argued that accused had been apprehended through the complainant and his buddy and recovered the snatched telephone from their ownership. He argued that it was a case of apprehension of the accused pink handed.


Public prosecutor argued that such form of offences are expanding daily in the space and most punishment prescribed for commission of offence be awarded to the accused in an effort to have a deterrent impact on the other like-minded people.
