NEW DELHI: Following the uproar over the debatable round that ordered Haryana athletes to section one-third of their source of revenue and deposit it with the federal government, chief minister ML Khattar has asked it to be placed on grasp.

"I have asked for the relevant file of Sports Department to be shown to me and the notification to be put on hold till further orders. We are proud of immense contribution by our sports persons and I assure them of a just consideration of all issues," Khattar posted on his respectable Twitter handle.
Haryana government had issued a atypical order asking the state athletes to deposit one-third of source of revenue + from their respective disciplines and endorsements to the Haryana State Sports Council. The stated amount, it claimed, can be used for the advance of sports activities in the state.

"One-third of the income earned by the sportsperson from professional sports or commercial endorsements will be deposited with the Haryana State Sports Council. The money will be used for the development of sport in the State," the notification, launched through the Sports and Youth Affairs Department of the Haryana government, dated 30th April, 2018, stated.
The round has been undersigned through Ashok Khemka, Principal Secretary to Government of Haryana (Sports and Youth Affairs Department).
Athletes employed in any division of the Haryana government can be given extraordinary go away without pay. It further states that if "the sportsperson is treated on duty with the prior approval of the competent authority while taking part in professional sports or commercial endorsements, the full income earned by the sportsperson on this account will be deposited with the Haryana State Sports Council."
"I have not yet seen the notification, I am only coming to know of it through media reports. I can only say that the athletes who compete in Olympic sports are already from very poor families," double-Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar + told PTI. "The government should make policies which encourage athletes. I haven't heard of such a policy anywhere else in the world. The athlete should be competing with a free mind, not with stress like this," he added.
Wrestler Babita Phogat also expressed her disappointment pronouncing it seems the insurance policies are being made through illiterate people. " I am saddened by the notification. It seems as if illiterate people are making policies. Do they not know that we're already paying taxes on money we win in competitions? If this is how things are going to work the medal count will go down," she stated.
