COIMBATORE: Drivers of the Tamil Nadu executive’s loose hearse carrier on Monday alleged that automobiles incessantly double up as Janani Suraksha scheme automobiles to power mothers and newborns house.

“This will divulge the mothers and newborns to many infections,” said hearse van driver S Krishnamurthy.

However, Coimbatore Medical College Hospital resident scientific officer Dr A Soundaravel denied the allegation. He said, “We have by no means despatched mothers and babies in hearse . We have separate automobiles.”

The drivers petitioned to the Coimbatore district collector pronouncing that they were incessantly made to power the vehicle carrying two to three our bodies at a time. The three our bodies incessantly belong to three other districts, resulting in the last body attaining nearly 12 hours later. As a consequence, the bereaved circle of relatives verbally and physically assaults the drivers.

The drivers asked the collector to type out their issues and make sure that they weren't centered for exposing issues.

Suresh Kumar from Mettupalayam said, “We are every so often made to power three our bodies which should be delivered to three districts—Salem, Trichy and Virudhunagar. By the time we achieve Virudhunagar, which is six hours away, after 14 hours, the families are inebriated, frustrated and abusive.”

Drivers said shedding off three our bodies rarely 10 km away was once no longer a problem. “But when those places are hours away and the vehicle has only one freezer box, after rarely three hours the opposite two our bodies make the van odor,” said Krishnamurthy.

“When non-dalit other people see their relative’s body subsequent to a dalit’s person’s body, they abuse the motive force for preserving the our bodies subsequent to each other,” he added.


Suresh Kumar was once pushed aside from work four months in the past for exposing those issues, said Krishnamurthy.


CMCH officers said two to three our bodies being transported in a vehicle simultaneously was once allowed. Designs were being modified to incorporate three freezer bins, they added.


The drivers also said they draw a salary of Rs 8,500 a month, which is less than their demand of Rs 525 in step with day. “We need a salary of Rs 525 an afternoon to regulate our expenses in the present inflation charges,” Krishnamurthy added.
