IITs will not lower cutoff for admission

NEW DELHI: Despite a drastic fall in the collection of applicants who cleared the 2018 JEE-Advanced, the examination authority determined on Wednesday to not decrease the cutoff for admission to IITs.

“The concrete resolution taken is there will probably be no lowering of cutoff. That has been agreed upon. Declared effects can’t be modified,” Aditya Mittal, JEE chair of IITDelhi, mentioned.

The joint admission board, comprising administrators and top-ranking officers of IITs, had called an emergency meeting to deal with the likelihood of IIT seats going vacant this 12 months.
