Israel can help Guj achieve water security: CM

GANDHINAGAR: On the first day of his visit to Israel, on Wednesday, Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani visited the Dan Region Waste Water Treatment Plant positioned at Shafdan.

Rupani together with a high-level delegation comprising senior state government officials are on a weeklong visit to Israel to discuss areas of mutual cooperation.

Dan Region Waste Water Treatment is Israel’s greatest waste water treatment plant constructed at a price of US $ 250 million and is in operation since 1977. It is positioned close to Rishon Lezion space, to gather, deal with and reclaim municipal waste water within the massive and hastily rising metropolitan space. It has a capacity to treat three,70,000 cubic metres in line with day (370 MLD) of municipal waste water.

Speaking in regards to the desalination tasks in Gujarat, he said, “The state is going to arrange a 100 MLD desalination plant in Jodia and in addition plans to arrange 10 such desalination crops to make sure water safety for coastal areas and Saurashtra, and a collaborative effort will lend a hand Gujarat achieve water safety by means of 2050.”

Rupani was once briefed in regards to the on-line device of water monitoring, grid management, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) of water supply. Rupani said, “By taking part with Israel and learning how they are successfully using all available water sources, we can make Gujarat self-sufficient in water and avoid water management issues till 2050.”


Rupani further said that, ‘The Dan Waste Water Treatment Plant’ and Gujarat’s recently introduced ‘Reuse of Waste Water Policy’ are two novel initiatives that can open up new possibilities of a joint collaboration within the coming days.


Gujarat signs MoU with safety answers firm mPrest: On the first day of his Israel tour, CM Vijay Rupani visited monitoring and controlling answers company – mPrest, the place the government of Gujarat signed an MoU with the company.


Under the MoU, signed within the presence of Chief Minister at Petah-Tikva in Israel, mPrest will do an opening research in developing modern and sensible state-of-art cities in Gujarat and will do the Proof of Concept (PoC) for demonstrating the capabilities.
