CHENNAI: Actor Kamal Haasan, who made his political foray and introduced the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) early this 12 months, on Wednesday expressed hope that his celebration will get the Election Commission popularity very quickly.
Kamal met Election Commission officers in New Delhi and mentioned the future of officially registering his celebration with the EC.
"EC officials have sought a few clarifications and we hope to submit the same by this evening. They have assured to accord recognition to the party very soon," Kamal informed reporters after the meeting with the EC in Delhi. "However, we are yet to decide on the party symbol," he added.
"Merely talking about environment cannot be termed as a criminal act. That cannot be accepted," Kamal stated, responding to a question on police arresting other people protesting or talking towards the proposed eight-lane inexperienced corridor nationwide freeway mission connecting Salem and Chennai.
