“We have asked NHAI to present us a 3 year-extension from the present end date in 2023, until 2026. This is wanted for the banks which spent Rs 1,081 crore on upkeep of the toll plaza, to get better their investments,” said a senior reputable of MCEPL.
Bankers and NHAI had signed a concessionaire settlement on January 23, 2008. For example: If the commissioning of the competing road facility occurs after 10 years from the appointed date, then the concession period shall be larger via 5 years.”
MCEPL wrote a letter to NHAI in April referring to extension of the settlement, after Huda announced its plan to inaugurate the Sector 76 road, enabling commuters to cross the toll plaza without paying toll. “We’re handiest following regulations set forth in the settlement. If the Kherki Daula toll is close ahead of time, it'll motive an enormous loss to the concessionaire. With the outlet of the brand new road, we’ll want three years more to make amends for the losses we’ll incur,” added the senior MCEPL reputable.
Huda is construction a 5km-long four-lane road on the eastern facet of the Delhi-Gurugram freeway to attach the Southern Peripheral Road with NH-Eight, bypassing the toll plaza at Kherki Daula. The road will be operational soon.
In the concessionaire settlement, Clause Eight.three states: “Upon commissioning of the competing road facility, the concessionaire shall proceed to levy and collect fees underneath this settlement and shall no longer offer any reductions or discounts in such fees, aside from that this sort of reductions or discounts that the concessionaire had offered to any normal or special elegance of users or automobiles for a continual period of 3 years prior to the commissioning of competing road facility might proceed in the similar shape and means after the commissioning of such competing road facility.”
