LUDHIANA: A 35-year-old man died when a welding gas cylinder exploded at his welding shop close to the city bus stand on Friday morning.
According to information, the man had re-filled the gas cylinder to start his paintings and almost half-an-hour later, the cylinder exploded. A work of cylinder hit the man close to his middle and he died on spot.
On listening to the blast, shopkeepers rushed to the spot and located the shop proprietor dead. The police took his body for post-mortem examination.
The deceased has been recognized as Praveen Kumar (35) of Dugri.
The man, along with his wife and three kids, have been residing in a rented accommodation for the previous three years.
Praveen Kumar was once the one bread winner for the family.
