Coimbatore: A woman, who used to be undergoing remedy on the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) after she set herself in fire 3 days in the past following a combat together with her husband, died on Thursday night. Following her loss of life, her husband hanged himself from a tree close to the clinic.
The deceased have been known as Chitra, 26, and her husband Manikandan, 30, a day-to-day wage labourer from Sugunapuram close to Kuniyamuthur. Police said Manikandan had married Chitra one-and-a-half years in the past following a love affair. “The couple used to be staying in a rented house at Sugunapuram. Manikandan used to get drunk and combat with his wife ceaselessly. Unable to bear his torture, the woman poured kerosene on her and set herself ablaze. She suffered serious burn injuries and used to be admitted on the CMCH 3 days in the past. Manikandan used to be caring for her at CMCH. After Chitra died on Thursday night, Manikandan, who used to be in a state of shock, rushed to Valankulam Road and hanged himself from a tree on Thursday night,” a police officer said. TNN
