GURUGRAM: The education department has banned the usage of plastic water bottles in govt colleges. The order issued on June 13 mentioned “single-use water bottles will likely be banned in colleges”.
Earlier, the state govt banned the usage of plastic water bottles in govt offices on the eve of World Environment Day. Its order learn, “All govt departments/forums/companies/self reliant gadgets in Haryana shall dispense with use of plastic water bottles in govt offices and make alternate arrangements for protected consuming water that does not result in era of plastic waste...Water bottles of other subject matter such as glass, metal, aluminium, and many others. can be used.”
Not having enough sources handy, principals stated it might be laborious to enforce the order. Bhushan Kumar Sachdeva, foremost of Government Senior Secondary School, Silani, stated, “Most of the scholars in my faculty come from very poor households, and bring water from house as we don’t have a water cooler to store consuming water. Meanwhile, some colleges are considering of possible choices for plastic bottles. “We will buy metal glasses for college kids so that students don’t deliver plastic bottles to university. Schools must make efforts to make this initiative a success,” stated Poonam Arora, Government Girls senior Secondary School, Badshahpur.
