MUMBAI: A 24-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his 23-year-old good friend after a drunken brawl in suburban Malad, police said on Sunday.
The deceased, Nityanand Mane, used to be employed with Merchant Navy.
The incident took place closing night when a bunch of 4 friends, together with the victim, had long past to Marve seashore to spend a while together and were having drinks.
During the consuming session, an issue broke out between Mane and Santosh Wankhede over a petty factor, the authentic said.
"Following the scuffle, Wankhede left the spot in a huff and went his home. Mane and other friends followed him to to his house to settle the matter. However, an argument ensued among them. Angered by this, Wankhede came down with a knife in his hand and stabbed Mane to death outside his house," he said.
On receiving details about the incident, police arrested Wankhede and booked him below quite a lot of sections of the IPC together with homicide.
Further investigation is underway.
