NEW DELHI: A family quarrel took a perilous turn when a 23-year-old guy stabbed his pregnant wife and spouse's mother in northwest Delhi’s Keshavpuram on Thursday night. While Sadiya (50) died at the spot, the situation of her daughter Shaista (20) is critical. The accused, Afroz, is absconding.
DCP (northwest) Aslam Khan mentioned that a homicide case has been registered towards Afroz, who were given married to Shaista 10 months again. The incident happened close to the SDM place of business in Keshavpuram. A preliminary probe printed that Afroz, who works as a day-to-day wage labourer and lives within the within reach slums, were given into a controversy with his wife, who's three months pregnant. As the heated dialogue continued and Sadiya too joined in, Afroz threatened to kill her. Soon, a scuffle ensued throughout which Afroz grabbed a kitchen knife, stabbed his wife and spouse's mother with it and fled.
Both the ladies were taken to a nearby medical institution where Sadiya was declared useless on arrival, while Shaista was admitted to the ICU in a crucial situation. Police are looking forward to her situation to enhance to document her commentary and find the exact cause in the back of the attack.
Officers are scanning the CCTV footage of the area to establish the escape direction taken through the accused. They are also wondering the neighbours to obtain extra details about the couple. Some of the neighbours mentioned that the person was pressurising his wife for a divorce, as he suspected her of being thinking about an illicit relationship. Apparently the couple used to combat over this issue incessantly.
In a bid to unravel the diversities between them, Shaista’s mom came to stay with them for a couple of days.
