Monsoon likely to hit Gujarat on June 10

GANDHINAGAR: The State Weather Watch Group (SWWG), in its weekly assembly held here on Tuesday, predicted that monsoon will hit the state on June 10.
The director of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Gujarat, Jayanta Sarkar apprised the gang of the high chance of advance monsoon. Traditionally, monsoon is known to set within the state on June 15. Sarkar additionally informed the gang that rainfall is predicted to be 99% of the typical.

Talking to TOI, Sarkar stated: “A system is creating over the Arabian Sea which is most likely to present very good rains for three to 4 days in South Gujarat and parts of coastal Saurashtra — namely Bhavnagar, Amreli and Porbandar.”

Satish Patel, relief director, who heads the SWWG, stated: “The state has made all important preparations for rescue and relief operations all the way through the monsoon.
