Monsoon will hit Gujarat on Monday, says IMD

AHMEDABAD: There is good news for the ones waiting for the monsoon — virtually everyone within the state. The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall within the south Gujarat region, Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli from Monday

The weather report also says that there is the potential of mild to moderate rain or thundershowers at isolated puts within the Gujarat region, Saurashtra and Diu. However, the ones in Kutch will still have dry weather.


The weathermen said there have been studies of showers at isolated positioned over the south Gujarat region and Saurashtra.


The IMD said that whilst Ahmedabad will see overcast prerequisites the maximum temperature will remain around 41°C and there it's not going that respite from the warmth will probably be forthcoming.


The monsoon in most cases hits the state by way of June 15, however it has been behind schedule this year. According to the state income division, this prolong has been the longest in several years. Officials said that in 2015 and 2017 the monsoon had hit the state within the first week of June, whilst in 2016, it arrived on June 21.
