No rain in sight for Ahmedabad for 5 days

AHMEDABAD: After raising hopes of early rains, the monsoon has failed to move forward of Mumbai.

So there is no chance of monsoon preserving its date with Gujarat on June 15, the professional date for the onset of the season.

Weather officers say that rains are not expected over Ahmedabad and different portions of North Gujarat for the following five days.


“Pre-monsoon process of light to moderate rains and thundershowers is anticipated in Saurashtra and South Gujarat,” stated Jayanta Sarkar, the director of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Gujarat. Officials stated that the only consolation is that due to prime humidity, there is little chance of warmth strokes.


“In North Gujarat, there is some unease because the humidity levels are prime at 70-80%. These levels are a lot upper in Saurashtra and South Gujarat,” Sarkar stated.


Officials stated they are hopeful of rain process over the state within the later a part of June. “Over the previous few years, monsoon has arrived within the state within the remaining leg of June,” Sarkar stated.
