Noida villagers step up protest against waste plant

NOIDA: Protests towards the dumping web site in Sector 123 took a curious turn on Friday when citizens of villages like Parthala, Behlolpur, Garhi Chaukhandi and Sokha held a bare bodied rally from Parthala group centre to FNG roundabout, elevating slogans towards the management.
The protesters have been joined through members of kisan unions and Youth Congress. The members in the rally claimed that their well being could be adversely affected and land prices would tank on account of the dump web site in Sector 123.

Besides, nobody would give their daughters in marriage to boys from their village, they claimed.

“We have this large problem of Noida’s rubbish being dumped in our neighbourhood. Obviously, it'll impact our well being and that of our long run generation,” mentioned Subey Yadav from Parthala village near Sector 123.

“While well being issues are coming near near, the citizens of the area also stand to lose the costs in their land in the area,” added Prince Yadav from Sarfabad village.

Sukhveer Pahalwan from Sarfabad, who runs an akhara, added that while national and international-level wrestlers are skilled in his village, it is a subject of do-or-die scenario for them. “How will they are living in such dangerous atmosphere,” he requested.

CEO Alok Tandon, on the other hand, reiterated that protesting on the streets is not going to help their cause as authority and management are best doing their process as in line with NGT order.

“We are bound through NGT order and their protest towards it amounts to contempt of court. The citizens will have to take their struggle to the relevant court somewhat than on the streets,” mentioned Tandon.
